Second Ideas on Tap and the Event Moving Forward

The second Ideas on Tap last week was another smashing success. For the second time in a row, it was standing room only at the Yaletown Brew Pub as over 300 Vancouver Technology and Social Media people gathered to listen to demo’s whilst enjoying a drink with friends.

This Ideas on Tap was live blogged by Rebecca Bollwitt (aka Miss604) - thanks to M2O for sponsoring the live blog - make sure you venture over to Rebecca’s site and read her excellent play by play recap of the evening. The second Ideas on Tap was made possible thanks to our sponsors: 6S Marketing, Sitemasher, Elastic Path Software, Domain7, Veratta, United Front Games, Techvibes, and Massive.

As with the first Ideas on Tap, we had a great line up of speakers to pitch their product to the crowd.  If you missed the event and would like to see the videos of the pitches, make sure you check out the video’s of the presentations. First up was Jim Udall of QuickMobile.

Jim was followed by Mary MacPherson (filling in for Ron Moravek) of SiteMasher.

Next up was with Brent Cummings from Make Good.

The evening was capped off with David Tedman from BrightKit. David won the crowd with his pitch for BrightKit - although it was a close call between David and Mary as both companies brought along enthusiastic entourages - and was chosen as the winner for the evening.

The third installment of Ideas on Tap will be held in sometime in April - we will let you know as soon as an exact date has been selected, this time in a larger venue so that we can better accommodate the over 300 people who registered and attended the last event. Make sure you check out all of the great photos from the event on Flickr and Facebook. You can also follow @IdeasonTap on twitter and become a fan of Ideas on Tap on Facebook to make sure you get the latest info on the next event.

Since I have joined the 6S Marketing team, I have been appointed to the event planning committee for Ideas on Tap. We have lots of plans in the works to make Ideas on Tap a great recurring event in Vancouver, but we’d love to hear your thoughts on what you’d like to see from the event and what you would like to see it grow to in the future.
