
Rick Goosen from Make Good
We are excited to announce that Rick Goosen, CEO of MakeGood will be presenting at the next Ideas on Tap on January 22nd, 2009.
MakeGood allows companies to show the good things they are doing (also known as social responsibility). MakeGood was founded by Rick Goossen in 2007 and investors/strategic partners include Cambrian House, Domain 7, Rethink & Burnkit. The MakeGood badge (by Rethink) recently won a Lotus Award for best logo.
Rick Goossen is the Director of Entrepreneurial Leadership, Transforming Business, a research
and development centre at the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK. He is also the founder
and Director of The Centre for Entrepreneurial Leaders and an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurial Leadership, School of Business, Trinity Western University. He teaches in the undergraduate and MBA programs.
He has written five books, edited five books and written over 150 articles for diverse publications
throughout the world, from leading academic journals to trade magazines and newspapers. His
most recent book, E-Preneur – Wall Street to Wiki – Succeeding as a Crowdpreneur in the New
Virtual Marketplace (Career Press, Spring 2008), has been translated into Chinese (Taiwan),
Chinese (PRC) and Portuguese (Brazil).

Ron Moravek Sitemasher
Sitemasher is a fully managed, hosted website solution that seamlessly integrates the website building environment, content management system (CMS), analytics, and search engine optimization (SEO) all within a single platform. Sitemasher was started in Vancouver 2006 by Phil Calvin and in mid 2007 was joined by former Electronic Arts VP and COO Ron Moravek.
Ron Moravek will be delivering a 1 minute elevator pitch at the January 22nd 2009 Ideas on Tap Event. Prior posts for Ron include, VP and General Manager of THQ Canada and Co-Founder and COO of Relic Entertainment. Early career titles include senior sales and business development roles with FedEx Canada and an IBM affiliate.

Blink Media Works and GetConnected have become a media sponsor of Ideas on Tap.
Blink Media Works Co-Founder, Mike Agerbo, participated in the elevator pitch competition at the October Ideas on Tap and wowed the crowd with his talk on video technology. You will likely recognize Mike and his partners AJ Vickery and Lindsay Smith, from GetConnected TV which airs on Citytv Vancouver and BNN. GetConnected also has a radio show that runs on the Corus Entertaiment Network across Canada and in Vancouver on Saturdays at 2pm on CKNW AM 980.

Think Tanked
Last night’s Ideas on Tap event rocked! Thank you to everybody who came down and supported. We estimate that 250 people showed up to watch Andre Charland from Nitobi win the speech competition chatting about phonegap. Rebecca Bollwitt (Miss604) came in a close 2nd talking about her company sixty4media.
Andre received a 16GB Ipod Touch and Rebecca some tickets to an upcoming Canucks Game + Madden 2009 for the XBOX 360. Mat Peake was the winner of the Madonna Concert tickets door prize.
